This article describes the development of SAP BPC, presents existing versions, and explains what is planned for the future. I would also like to show which versions and objects Docu Performer Suite supports in the context of SAP BPC.
General - SAP BPC
SAP currently offers the following versions of BPC:
- SAP BPC 10.0 Standard
- SAP BPC 10.1 Standard (Successor of version 10.0)
- SAP BPC 11.0 Standard (Successor of version 10.1 for BW/4HANA)
- SAP BPC 10.1 Embedded (Development of BW-IP)
- SAP BPC 11.0 Embedded (Development of BW-IP for BW/4HANA)
BPC Standard vs. BPC Embedded
BPC Embedded was developed to unite "BI-IP" and "BPC". This grouping takes place under the HANA Planning and Application Kit.

With the release of "SAP HANA" and "SAP BW on HANA", SAP built more and more functionality into HANA, which resulted in the so-called Planning Application Kit (PAK). The aim was to make the advantages of the HANA database technology usable for planning as well. SAP BO Analysis for Office" (Excel-based) or the "SAP BEx Web Application Designer" are available as frontends for planning. |
BPC Embedded ensures the collaborative use of Business Process Flows in BI-IP and BPC. Master data maintenance is also possible in the EDW.

Future of BW-IP and BPC Embedded 11.0
BW-IP is no longer developed and won't be supported for BW/4HANA by SAP. BI-IP and PAK will be integrated into BPC Embedded 11.0.

Use the following analysis functions to identify relevant information at one glance within the Docu Performer Suite software:
• Document single or multiple BPC objects to reflect the relevant technical information with the Docu Performer.
• Search for certain strings or keywords in your Script Logics and let the code conveniently be displayed in Docu Performerthe System Scout.
• Show all scheduled packages including valuable information - as for instance time stamps - at one glance.
• Compare the definitions of two BPC objects, also across systems, to identify possible differences.
