Access the DB manually

Summary

We receive questions from the customer who ask, e.g. if it is possible to read from the DB manually, e.g. access the done comments of their objects or access the DB by a 3rd Party application.

Recommendation

If you tell us your intention why you want to manually access the data we could help you find a solution.
Writing manually into the DB by alternating data in the DB is not recommended and might lead to a corrupt or inconsistent DB.
  • Reading is possible but not easy to interpret since data is spread across different tables.
E.g. comments: every comment chapter is stored in different tables base on the object type.
Images and rich text documents are stored in serialized formats (“<Address><Street>31 Tech Valley Drive</Street><CitY>East Greenbush</CitY><State>New Code></Address>”).

  • There is no API for a 3rd Party connection.
