Database-Update duration
Summary
Duration: Between a few minutes ~ and a few hours.
The duration of the DB update depends heavily on the following three factors:
- Size of your database (amount of stored entities, Comments, Scenarios)
- Performance speed of your database-server itself
- Latency to your database (connection)
DB updates are database calls
If the latency to the database is high (DB location is in another city or even country), this could lead to performance losses, even though the database-server itself is fast.
Such latencies can occur due to complex network architectures, VPN, security checks, slower machines such as a VM or simply missing bandwidth.
Keep in mind
Let the DB update continue, even if it takes longer than expected.
Try not to interrupt.
If you need to cancel the DB update, make sure to delete this DB after the cancel, because every failed DB update attempt leaves the DB in a corrupt state.
Retry with the latest backup of your DB.
