Object Level

Data Lineage at Object level for BW Entities.
We export two files: one file with all the relations of BW Entities (“Relations”) and one file with more details (e.g. Technical Name and descriptions) (“Details”) of the entities.

The supported entities are the following:

Details

These parameters are displayed per object:

Object ID
Technical name
UID (for Reporting elements & Transformations)
Object Type
InfoArea
Descriptions for the languages set in the configuration file
Logical system (for DataSources)

Relations

In the “Relations” file, only entities that have a connection in a data flow are included. E.g. an Advanced DSO without an incoming or outgoing transformation or a Composite or Open ODS View on top is not listed in the data.

This information is displayed:

Nodes: ID of Objects with a relation to another
Edges: Relation ID, ID of Source and Target Object.

Field Level

Data Lineage at Field/InfoObject level for BW Entities.

Three files are exported: one file with the buildup of BW entities (“Buildups”), one with the descriptions of the fields and InfoObjects (“Buildup Descriptions”), and one file with the mappings between the fields and InfoObjects (“Mappings”).

The fields and InfoObjects, and their parameters are displayed per objects like this:

InfoProviders

Parent ID

Definition of Key Figures

The definitions of key figures on the Reporting level are also read. The definitions of Calculated Key Figures, Restricted Key Figures, Local Formulas, and Local Selections are collected.

Buildup Descriptions

The Buildup Descriptions file lists the IDs and descriptions of all fields.

Mappings

In the “Mappings” file, only fields and InfoObjects connected in the data lineage are included.

All field and InfoObject Mappings are supported only for the BW entities.
