The Deploy Option is missing in IIS

Follow the steps below when you do not see the the “Deploy” option in IIS (Internet Information Services).

  1. Uninstall “Web Deploy” if installed

  2. Go to Programs and Features in the Control Panel and find the option “Turn Windows features on or off”.

  3. Activate the features for Internet Information Services (FTP Server is not needed). Make especially sure that “IIS Management Service” is checked. Also activate “Internet Information Services Hostable Web Core”.

  4. Download and install Web Deploy: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=106070

  5. Select “Custom” during the installation.

  6. Make sure that “IIS Deployment Handler“ is available and selected for installation.
