Key Figure Collection

The Key Figure Collection function offers the options to collect, analyze and compare different Key Figures based on one or many InfoProvider or Queries.

The System Scout searches for all Key Figures and their definitions regarding a relevant InfoProvider (for example HANA CompositeProvider, MultiProvider, or Queries). The Key Figure report function can be found in the System Scout under “Analysis Reports” and in the search view:

Excel-Export

A complete list of Key Figures can be exported to Excel where duplicates can be identified and further comparisons or analyses be made.

Available Objects

The following Objects are available for selection:

  •  Advanced DataStore Objects

  •  DataStore Objects

  •  HANA Composite Provider

  •  InfoCubes

  •  Characteristics (InfoProvider)

  •  MultiProvider

For a selected Object of a selected system the analysis can be initiated by double click or the “Start Analysis” button in the drop-down menu (right mouse click):
The System Scout then starts to collect all Basic Key Figures (InfoObjects) for the selected Object. In the next step, all Reusable Key Figures are determined as well as the relevant Queries.

For each Query again all Basic and Reusable Key Figures are collected in addition to local Formulas and Selections.
The following information is displayed next to the Objects information (Technical Name, Description, UID if applicable):

  • Description of Selection

  • Description of Key Figure Formulas

  • Key Figure Details specified at Query-level (Aggregation, Display, etc.)

Just like using the table of the synchronized SAP Objects, Characteristics and further details can be added via the column editor (right-click on the header).

Solved Formula

A special feature of the Analysis function is the column “Solved Formula” where the complete formula of a local selection or formula and Reusable Key Figures are displayed.
How the formula is exploded will be demonstrated with a simple example:
The restricted Key Figure VMM_M001_RKF001 has the Formula VMM_M001_CKF001, which in this case is a simply Calculated Key Figure restricted to the countries Switzerland, Germany, and Austria:

By exploding the Formula to its basic Key Figures, icons are replaced by their actual logical values from the SAP tables.
For example, I_EQ stands for I = “Values specified must be selected”, EQ= “Equal: Single Value” or E_LE with E = “Values specified must be excluded” and LE = “Less or Equal: All <= the Value in field LOW”.
An exploded formula is created from the Restricted Key Figures (see below).
