Scenario Export

For the Scenario Export, you have many settings and properties. The Export-related settings will be explained in this article.

Target group specific export

The big advantage of the scenarios: You only have to create one scenario and it supports numerous target groups!

Scenario being adjusted for different target groups

It is smart to create a scenario with the highest level of detail because restrictions can be implemented afterward to adjust the level of detail

Aspects to consider:

  • Which target groups exist at all?

  • Who should actually consume the documentation and how should the content of the documentation vary per target group?

  • Which language is relevant for the respective target group?

  • What appearance should the document have for the respective target group?

Adjust the level of detail to the target group

The contents of the scenario can be customized using the following scenario export settings:

Export settings including settings variant, word template and languages

In the following, the individual settings are explained or linked to already existing entries.

Version

The version can be freely assigned manually in the export dialog. Alphanumeric characters such as numbers, letters, commas and periods are available. The version is not automatically incremented when re-exporting the scenario and must be adjusted manually if necessary. The assigned version can be added by using a bookmark in Word template used in the exported scenario. For this purpose, the bookmark "SC_VERSION" can be used in the Word template. After exporting the registered version appears in the appropriate place.

Export Source

The 'Export Source' is a concept of the Scenarios in the Performer Suite. With this concept, you can support the whole process of SAP Application development.

To be able to fully use these functions you have to set up and maintain the System Levels (see Maintain SAP System Description and Level).

Example: You start with the first draft of your Application in your development systems (ERP, BW, HANA, BO). At the same time, you can start to create Scenarios in the Performer Suite for the documentation of your development. That means you assign your created entities from the development system to the Scenario in the Performer Suite and can start commenting them. With the created Scenario you can show others the current status of your Application Development in SAP.

When the development is completely done and transported to all productive systems, you can create the full Application documentation with your Scenario in the Performer Suite. Therefore you have to choose the "Productive" option of the checkbox (see screenshot).

When you choose "Development", "Quality Assurance", "Productive" or "Sandbox" the Docu Performer creates the full documentation related to the chosen System Level. When you choose "As defined in Scenario (default)" the Docu Performer takes the metadata from the system which are really behind the objects in the Scenario.

Comment Sharing is a very interesting feature related to the work with Scenarios and application-wide documentations.

In the Scenario directory for every Scenario, Export History can be displayed via the context menu. In the Export History, you see information for every export of the selected Scenario.
